Brooks Team Chevron triathlete Kristian McCartney took another step towards winning his fourth series crown by taking out first place in race 5 of the Gatorade Triathlon Series at Elwood last Sunday.

Kristian had a great race recording the following times for each leg –

Swim – 00:07:45; Bike – 00:28:43; Run – 00:17:59

With the fastest run on the day he managed to get over the line just 21 seconds ahead of fellow Brooks athlete Leon Griffin (World Duathlon Champion and winner of last weeks Geelong 70.3 Ironman).

Kristian who is now placed on top of the Series leader board is just one race away from retaining his title as series winner; which will be his 3^rd straight victory and a record 4^th Gatorade Triathlon Series title.
